Happy New Year, 2018

Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a wonder new year and stayed warm. To our surprise we lasted until midnight. It made for a long Monday though with little guy waking up at 6am. I did a little shopping over the weekend, mainly clothes for Gunnar. I also bought some after holiday items for 2018 Christmas parties. We spent New Year’s day relaxing, watching the Rose Parade and doing some every day cleaning. Now that is back to the grind for us, I need to really start cleaning out our house for the new year. I love decluttering the house and starting out the new year fresh. Plus, I need to make room for the new things I bought. I will take it one day at a time with one room per day (probably more like per week). I already have Ryan on board to get his closet cleaned out. He has been cleaning out his closet for the last couple of weeks. There are a few items I will put up for sale on Facebook and Craigslist, but most of the clothing items will be donated this year. I really just want to clean out our house especially since we need to start on the interior renovations from the hail storm back in June 2017.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution? I am terrible at making resolutions. I have never stuck to any of my resolutions and gave up for years. I have been reading lots of blogs and articles on resolutions for the couple of days as I was asked what my resolution is for 2018. I have not been able to answer anyone so I started looking up top resolutions, attainable resolutions and ones to leave behind. Here are my top resolutions to make (or should make):

  1. Spend less time on social media
  2. Get organized/Become tidier
  3. Get more sleep
  4. Let go, be positive
  5. Eat clean/stick to good habits

There are many other resolutions I should adopt this year but I am not even sure I can do five. A few of these never used to be an issue for me but after having a baby, my routines went out the door. I plan to work on those routines again but the main one I plan to focus on this year is “Let Go, be positive.”

If you follow my blog, you may have read we had some sad news over the holidays. I took it pretty hard and was very negative for a few days leading up to Christmas. I need to remember to stay positive as I cannot plan life (figuratively and literally in this case). So, throughout the year I will be writing posts about ways to let go and stay positive. I will also write a few on my other four resolutions as well.

Happy New Year and may you achieve all of your resolutions!
